BcmA is excited to present performance artists during performance month in Berlin in July 2026, which will be selected in our Open Call.

Open Call for Performances: MindAIness 2026

We invite performance artists, technologists, and collectives to apply to the fourth edition of MindAIness, an independent performance art event at the intersection of mindfulness and artificial intelligence.

This is not a showcase for technological spectacle.
It is a space for critical intervention and a platform for discourse.
As AI systems increasingly externalize cognition, predicting, generating, and deciding, a fundamental question emerges:

What happens to presence when intelligence migrates outside the flesh?

A Shift in Where the Mind Lives

We are entering a moment where memory, intuition, and even creativity are being displaced into machines.
Systems begin to “know” us, sometimes better than we know ourselves. They are slowly take over our important decisions.

But the body remains.

It breathes.
It hesitates.
It resists.
It tames.

MindAIness fourth edition explores this tension:
between presence and abstraction,
between flesh and virtuality,
between lived experience and computed knowledge.

In a time where intelligence is increasingly abstracted, optimized, and scaled,

WE ask:

What remains irreducibly human?
What cannot be outsourced?
What does it feel like to still have a body?

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking performance-based works that engage with:

– The externalization of the mind into digital systems
– The disconnection or fragmentation of bodily experience
– The affective impact of algorithmic intimacy
– The loss, transformation, or redefinition of presence
– The body as site of resistance in an automated world
– The posthuman condition beyond utopia or dystopia
– The phasma between soma and system

We are particularly interested in works that do not illustrate technology, but instead interrogate its consequences.

Grounds

MindAIness operates within BcmA platform, bringing together perspectives from:

– AI safety and alignment
– Feminist and posthuman philosophy
– Cognitive science
– Somatic and embodied practices

We welcome proposals from artists and collectives working across disciplines.

This is an invitation to engage critically, physically, and conceptually with one of the defining transformations of our time.

BcmA – a non profit art space

BcmA operates as a non-profit platform that nurtures the growth of art and culture through a collaborative project space. Our core mission is to empower both emerging talents and established artists, enabling them to curate, exhibit, and collaborate, thereby invigorating the vibrant Berlin art scene. We want to clarify that we do not assume any costs for the participant artists who apply for the exhibition’s open call. Production budgets, artists fees and travel or accommodation expenses can not be covered by BcmA. We believe that artists should have the opportunity to showcase their work and explore the exhibition’s themes without any financial burden. However, BcmA is covering costs of the venue and digital marketing to promote the selected artists who participate in the open call.
